The City Council, by a majority of its members, shall elect a Sealer of Weights and Measures at its first regular meeting in February after its organization, or as soon as may be thereafter, to serve until his or her successor shall be elected as aforesaid by the succeeding City Council.
The Sealer of Weights and Measures shall have all the powers given and perform all the duties required by this Code and other ordinances of the City and the statutes of the state.

A. 
All fees required by statute to be paid to the Sealer of Weights and Measures for services rendered by him or her in the sealing of the weights and measures required by statute to be sealed by him or her and which are received by the Sealer of Weights and Measures shall be paid over daily by him or her to the Office of the City Clerk, with a statement showing from whom such fees have been paid.
B. 
The Pawtucket Sealer shall charge the fees authorized by state law up to the fees charged by any state Sealer appointed by the state.
