[Approved 10-17-1967 by Ch. No. 1135 as Sec. 23-1 of the
1996 Code]
The City Council, for and on behalf of the City,
hereby accepts Chapter 45-21 of the General Laws of the state, as
amended, to include the employees in the general classifications (exclusive
of police officers, firefighters and school teachers) of the City
in the Municipal Employees' Retirement System of the state.
The City shall become a member of the Municipal
Employees' Retirement System of the state as of July 1, 1962.
