No person shall be appointed a probationary
or permanent firefighter within the Pawtucket Department of Public
Safety until he or she shall has been tested and evaluated with standardized
procedures by a psychologist certified in accordance with the provisions
of Title 5, Chapter 44, of the Rhode Island General Laws.
The cost of the test and evaluation shall be
borne by the appointing authority. The psychologist shall provide
a report in writing of his or her evaluation, together with pertinent
recommendations for the guidance of the appointing authority in considering
the total fitness of said person for the appointment. Any candidate
who receives an unsatisfactory rating shall be ineligible for appointment.
