The office of Assistant Borough Treasurer is hereby created in the Borough of Spring Lake.

The Assistant Treasurer shall be appointed by the Mayor, and the appointment shall be confirmed by the Council in accordance with the laws relating to appointive officers.
The term of office of the Assistant Treasurer shall be for one year and shall continue until the successor to the office shall have been appointed and confirmed or until the office shall have been abolished.
The Assistant Treasurer shall have all the powers and perform all the duties of the Borough Treasurer during such times and for such periods as the Borough Treasurer shall be absent or disabled from the performance of his duties.
The compensation of the Assistant Treasurer shall be as provided in the Salary Ordinance.
