A. 
All buildings located within the Borough of Dallastown shall be numbered on the front, whether fronting on a street or alley, public or private. The word "building" used in this chapter shall mean any structure used or intended to be used as a dwelling, office, store, place of business or place of industry or as a structure in which the primary use of and for the lot occurs. The word "building" as used in this subsection shall not include any accessory building located upon a lot where there is also a building in which the primary use of and for the lot occurs.
B. 
All properties located within the Borough of Dallastown upon which a primary building is located which has access to the rear of the property by an alley or street shall be numbered at the rear of the property. The term "primary building" as used in this subsection shall mean a building in which the primary use of and for the lot occurs.
The Borough Manager or, in the absence of the Borough Manager, the Borough Council will work with and cooperate with the United States Postmaster for Dallastown to assign the number for each such building and property as required herein.
Within 90 days following the effective date of this chapter, each owner of an existing building or property required to be numbered pursuant to § 93-1 of this chapter shall permanently affix such building's number on the front of the building and at the rear of such property, as specified in this chapter.
A. 
The numbers to be affixed to each building shall be at least three inches in height.
B. 
The numbers shall be placed upon the front of the building so as to be readily visible from the street or alley on which the building fronts.
C. 
Where there is access to the building from the rear by an alley or street, the numbers required to be placed at the rear of the property shall be affixed to a permanent structure, including but not limited to any building, accessory building or fence, so as to be readily visible from such alley or street in the rear.
The owner of any building hereafter erected in the Borough shall, before such building may be occupied, make application to the Borough for the official number of such building, which number shall be placed upon the building, and at the rear of the property if applicable, in compliance with § 93-4 hereof.
Any person or entity who or which violates the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of up to $600, together with the costs of prosecution, and, in default thereof, be sentenced to imprisonment in the York County Prison for a period of not more than 10 days. Each day of violation of this chapter shall constitute a separate violation.
