[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of Dallastown at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I). Amendments noted where applicable.]
It shall be unlawful to discharge or cause to be discharged, ignited, fired or otherwise set in action on public property within the limits of the Borough of Dallastown any fireworks, firecrackers, rockets, sparklers, torpedoes, roman candles, fire balloons or other fireworks or substances of any combination whatsoever designed or intended for pyrotechnic display.
It shall also be unlawful and it is hereby prohibited for any person, persons, firm or corporation to discharge any rifle, gun, pistol, revolver, cane, cannon or other appliance, whether projecting or exploding any bullet cartridge, blank cartridge cap or otherwise or any explosive substance or mixture of chlorates or nitrates.

It shall be unlawful for any person to cause a bow and arrow, including, without limitation, a cross-bow, to shoot, fire, or otherwise project an arrow within the Borough, unless such use is restricted to an archery practice site, or such use is performed while engaged in the hunting of game, unprotected birds, or animals upon private lands within the Borough of Dallastown pursuant to and in accordance with the Game and Wildlife Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 34 Pa.C.S.A. § 101, et seq., and/or the regulations of the Pennsylvania Game Commission. For the purposes of this section, an "archery practice site" shall be defined as a designed area in which arrows are shot at a fixed target which has either: 1) a backstop, with the target centered thereon, of a minimum size of eight feet in length and eight feet in width, and being of a material and thickness of which no arrow, when shot from a bow, can duly penetrate; or 2) a buffer zone of two hundred fifty feet from the target to any adjoining landowner's property. All arrows used in an archery practice site shall be equipped with target tips. No hunting or razor-type tips shall be permitted.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than $600, plus costs of prosecution, and in default of payment of such fine and costs by imprisonment for not more than 30 days.
