The Animal Control Warden is hereby authorized to issue temporary licenses for dogs owned or kept in the Town.
The Animal Control Warden may issue a temporary license for any dog going at large not licensed under this article and collect the fees therefor, as fixed from time to time by the Town Council.
The Animal Control Warden may collect the registration fee of any unregistered dog provided by G.L. 1956, § 4-13-4.
The Animal Control Warden shall issue the license and receive the money therefor and pay the same to the Town Clerk. He shall also pay to the Town Clerk all registration fees collected.
Upon receipt of the registration and license fees, the Town Clerk shall register and issue permanent licenses for dogs in accordance with G.L. 1956, §§ 4-13-4 and 4-13-5.
In addition to the fee otherwise required by law for the issuance of a dog license, there shall be an additional charge of $2 for each such license. Said $2 fee shall be retained by the Town Treasurer in a separate account which shall be expended at the direction of the Town Council for the enforcement of laws pertaining to animals.
