Drug-free workplace — See Ch. 27.
The Elmira Heights Village Board hereby declares its implacable opposition
to the illegal sale of any controlled substance on or near school grounds
and supports severe penalties for such acts.
There shall be a Drug-Free School Zone around each school in the Village
of Elmira Heights as defined in § 220.00, Subdivision 14, of the
Penal Law, which zone will consist of the area within the real property boundary
of all the schools within the Village of Elmira Heights, together with 1,000
feet beyond said real property boundary.
The Elmira Heights Village Board declares its support for full and strict
law enforcement of all laws designed to prevent the illegal sale of controlled
substances within said Drug-Free School Zone and its support for increased
criminal penalties for sale of controlled substances within said zone.
The Superintendent of Public Works shall be authorized to prepare and
place appropriate signs to be posted at one-thousand-foot boundaries from
Cohen Elementary School and Thomas A. Edison Junior/Senior High School.
