Pursuant to General Municipal Law § 209-m,
the Chief of Police of the Village of Fishkill is hereby granted certain
powers with regard to requesting and granting police assistance (i.e.,
mutual aid) to or from other municipalities in Dutchess County. The
Chief of Police of the Village of Fishkill may request or grant intermunicipal
police assistance under the following circumstances:
A. A civil disorder involving 20 or more people; any
mutual aid occurrence of a duration lasting six hours or more or any
circumstance in which the personnel of the responding municipality
have incurred serious personal injury in the course of providing mutual
aid or any other circumstances of the same or similar magnitude.
B. Normal, daily requests for mutual aid from other municipalities
which request would aid and/or ensure public and/or law enforcement
officer safety or any other circumstances of the same or similar magnitude.

In the event of any such request for assistance
to or from another municipality, the Police Commissioner will as soon
as practical report to the Village Mayor all of the circumstances
surrounding the request for mutual assistance. If the Village Mayor
is not available, the Police Commissioner shall report to the Deputy
Mayor or, if the Deputy Mayor is not available, a member of the Board
of Trustees.
