The provisions of this article shall apply except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device.
Traffic control devices shall be installed and operated at the intersection of those highways described in Schedule I (§ 38-41), attached to and made a part of this chapter. No person shall disobey or disregard a traffic control device installed and operated pursuant to this section.
The maximum speed at which vehicles may proceed on or along any highway within the Village, other than as provided in § 1643 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York, is hereby established at 30 miles per hour, except that the speed limit for vehicles proceeding on or along those highways or parts thereof described in Schedule II (§ 38-42) shall be as indicated in such schedule.
The streets or parts of streets described in Schedule III (§ 38-43), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as one-way streets in the direction indicated.
No person shall make a U-turn on any of the highways or parts of highways described in Schedule IV (§ 38-44) attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall make a turn of the kind designated (left, right, all) at any of the intersections described in Schedule V (§ 38-45), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall make a right turn when facing a steady red signal (stop indication) at any of the intersections described in Schedule VI (§ 38-46), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
The intersections described in Schedule VII (§ 38-47), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as stop intersections.
The intersections described in Schedule VIII (§ 38-48), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as yield intersections.
Vehicles in excess of the weights indicated are hereby excluded from the highways or parts thereof described in Schedule IX (§ 38-49), except for municipal vehicles and those actually carrying or transporting materials to or from any property on such highways.
All commercial vehicles having a total gross weight in excess of 10,000 pounds are prohibited upon the following highways or portions thereof in the Village, as described in Schedule X (§ 38-50), attached to and made part of this chapter.
Through traffic is prohibited on the following highways or portions thereof in the Village, as described in Schedule XI (§ 38-51), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
