Pursuant to Subdivision 4(a) of § 10 of the Municipal Home Rule Law, the Building Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Fire Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Housing Inspectors, Director of Public Works or his agent, and parking meter attendants of the City of Jamestown are hereby authorized and empowered to issue appearance tickets as such tickets are defined by § 150.10 of the Criminal Procedure Law to persons allegedly violating any statute, local law, ordinance, rule or regulation relating to fire prevention, safety, health and sanitation, building, zoning and planning, housing and parking ordinances of the City of Jamestown, which by virtue of their respective offices the Building Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Fire Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Housing Inspectors, Director of Public Works or his agent, and parking meter attendants of the City of Jamestown are authorized or required to enforce.
The Building Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Fire Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Housing Inspectors, Director of Public Works or his agent, and parking meter attendants of the City of Jamestown may issue and serve upon a person an appearance ticket when such Inspector or Inspectors has or have reasonable cause to believe that such person has committed a misdemeanor or has committed a petty offense in his or their presence. The authority to issue appearance tickets herein granted shall not extend to offenses that are felonies. The authority of parking meter attendants to issue appearance tickets herein granted shall only extend to violations of the parking ordinances of the City of Jamestown.
