Pursuant to § 64(17-a) of the Town
Law, the Town Board of the Town of Kent may appoint a Town Historian,
to serve at the pleasure of the Town Board without compensation. The
Town Historian shall recommend to the Town Board the preservation
and protection of places, buildings, works of art and other objects
having a special character or aesthetic interest or value, as well
as reasonable control of the use or appearance of neighborhood private
property within public view. The Town Historian shall also preserve
and protect such objects and documents of historical value which shall
be entrusted to his care by the Town Board.
