Persons seeking to be married or joined in civil union by the Mayor of the City of Egg Harbor anywhere in the State of New Jersey shall pay to the City of Egg Harbor a fee of $150, payable by check or money order at the time of the ceremony.
The Mayor must submit the fee to the City Clerk within five days of conducting the ceremony.
Establishment of policy. There is hereby established by and within the City of Egg Harbor this article setting forth policies and procedures concerning the payment of and/or reimbursement to the Mayor in connection with the performance of wedding and civil union ceremonies.
Procedures for reimbursement. After officiating at a wedding or civil union ceremony, the Mayor shall first submit payment to the City Clerk. The payment of $150 will then be reimbursed to the Mayor through the payroll process.
