A.
A systematic review procedure is authorized to process
requests for exclusion from Fire Districts 1 and 2 for wooden frame buildings.
B.
A staff committee from Planning and Zoning, Public Works,
Municipal Development, Building Inspector and applicable Fire Chief will conduct
the first level of review using forms and criteria as established by the Municipal
Development Committee.
C.
Such staff committee will submit its recommendations,
in writing, to the Municipal Development Committee within 30 days of receipt
of a proper application.
D.
The Municipal Development Committee will then consider
such comments and submit a recommendation to the Common Council.
Any exclusions from Fire Districts 1 and 2 should be guided by the following
principles:
A.
The exclusion from a fire district is only for the life
of the existing building.
B.
The special conditions and requirements do not supersede
any other requirements of applicable state or local codes and ordinances.
C.
The Building Inspector's office shall be granted full
authority to impose any special conditions and requirements as they relate
to the exclusion of a property or building from either Fire District 1 or
Fire District 2.
