GENERAL REFERENCES
Adult businesses — See Ch. 7.
Special amusement permits — See Ch. 14.
Noise — See Ch. 139.
No person, firm, association or corporation shall conduct or maintain any public dance or dance hall or place of public entertainment within the Town of Bar Harbor until such person, firm, association or corporation shall have first obtained a license to do so from the municipal officers of the Town of Bar Harbor.
The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to the following:
A. 
Dances conducted by or under the authority of public school officials.
B. 
Dances conducted by or under the authority of any fraternal organization.
C. 
Dances conducted by any licensee of the Maine State Liquor Commission who is required by state law or by any regulation of said Commission to obtain a permit from said Commission in order to conduct dances.
The fee for the license shall be $2 which shall be paid to the Town of Bar Harbor before a license shall be issued.
The municipal officers shall make such reasonable rules and regulations governing public dances or dance halls so as not to create a public disturbance. Any such license granted by the municipal officers may be revoked for failure to comply with said rules and regulations.
