City of Lebanon, NH Chapter 1 General Provisions

Article I Adoption of Code

[Adopted 9-20-2000 by Ord. No. 70; effective 9-25-2000]

§ 1-1 Declaration of purpose.

Pursuant to Section 419:22 of the City Charter, the City Council authorized the codification of the ordinances of the city, except those ordinances described below. Such codification included the revision and deletion of said ordinances. A list of revisions made to the ordinances is set forth in Schedule A attached (available for inspection at the office of the City Clerk Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.).

§ 1-2 Adoption of Code.

The Code of the City of Lebanon, prepared by General Code Publishers Corp., dated June 2000, is hereby approved and adopted.

§ 1-3 Repealer.

This Adopting Ordinance and the Code shall supersede and repeal all other city ordinances, except the following, which are expressly saved from repeal and shall continue in full force and effect:

A. Ordinance No. 2, the Lebanon Zoning Ordinance, and all amendments thereto.

B. All ordinances pertaining to salaries and compensation.

§ 1-4 General penalty.

Unless otherwise specified, any person, accessory, principal or corporation convicted of violating any provision of the Code of the City of Lebanon where another penalty is not provided, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished, upon conviction, by a maximum fine of not to exceed $500 or imprisonment for a term not to exceed 90 days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day's continued violation shall constitute a separate offense.
