Hunting and trapping in any part of the Village are hereby prohibited
except with the special permit by the Mayor and/or Board of Trustees, except
in connection with the protection of a person's property by the owner or person
in charge thereof or with the killing of animals such as deer, rabbits, rats,
etc., which are destroying property on the premises. All persons using guns
on their own property must, of course, have a proper license for same.
No person shall discharge any fireworks, gunpowder or other explosives
or make any bonfires in or upon the streets or the public property of the
Village without first obtaining a written permit therefor from the Mayor or
Board of Trustees of the Village.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine not exceeding
the sum of $250 for any offense, and each day that a violation continues shall
be deemed to constitute a separate offense.
The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to an act in self-defense
or in discharge of official duty, nor shall this chapter be construed to prohibit
the discharge of a gun firing blank cartridges in celebration of Independence
Day.
