No person shall assign any name to any new street without first submitting the proposed name to the Board of Public Works for its approval.
The owner, occupant or person in charge of any building located upon or in close proximity to the line of any sidewalk, street or other public way shall, upon notice from the City Superintendent or a police officer, remove or cause to be removed the snow and ice from the roof, eaves trough or gutter of such building when the same is liable to fall therefrom.
No person shall deposit or allow to be deposited upon any paved street, curbing or public way in the City salt or saltwater, except that, at the direction of the Superintendent of Public Works, salt may be used upon City streets for aiding in the control and removal of ice and snow therefrom at such times as he/she may deem advisable.
A. 
Responsibility. The Board of Public Works shall be responsible for the care and maintenance of all street trees. "Street trees" are deemed to be those located between the sidewalk and the curb. Such care and maintenance shall include the planting, spraying, trimming, removal and repair of such trees.
B. 
Attaching notices and signs. No person shall attach any wire, fixture, notice, poster or sign on any street tree or do any planting, spraying, trimming, removal or repair on any such tree without prior approval from the Superintendent of Public Works.
C. 
Removal of trees. Only unsafe or unsound trees will be removed at the expense of the City. Removal of all other trees, granted upon request, shall be at the expense of the owner of the real property involved. The determination of what is an unsafe or unsound tree shall be made by the Superintendent of Public Works.
D. 
Unauthorized killing. Any person deliberately killing a City-owned tree shall be liable for the cost of removing the dead tree and the replacement, if necessary.
E. 
Planting in sidewalk area. Planting of trees, shrubs, bushes or hedges in the sidewalk area shall not be permitted.
