A. 
Overdue materials. No person shall keep any books or materials on loan from the City library for a period in excess of 60 days from its current due date.
B. 
Charges for overdue materials. Any person keeping books, magazines or other materials on loan beyond the due date shall be assessed $0.10 per day for each book or item, payable at the time such materials are returned to the library.

C. 
Lost or damaged materials. No person shall burn, tear, mutilate, deface, destroy or damage any book, periodical, magazine, pamphlet, newspaper or other library material which is the property of the library.
D. 
Penalty. Any person violating this section shall pay the replacement cost of any lost or damaged material or its equivalent plus $2, which shall be assessed by the Librarian, and, in addition thereto, shall be subject to the penalties set forth under Chapter 1, General Provisions, § 1-19. Any parent or guardian having legal custody of a child under 14 years of age, which child has violated this section, shall be responsible for and be subject to citation and penalty for such violation, as if such parent or guardian had committed the violation, if such parent or guardian executed any sponsorship or guaranty document required by the library to assume responsibility for the borrowing activities of the child for the purpose of obtaining such child's library card privileges.
Section 943.61, Wis. Stats., and as amended from time to time, is hereby adopted by reference and made a part of this article as if fully set forth herein.
