The houses, stores and other buildings being
or fronting on any of the public streets or alleys of the Borough
shall be numbered in the manner hereinafter provided, and the owner
or owners thereof shall be required to place numbers plainly faced
upon the front thereof. The numbers shall be plain and distinct and
shall be of figures at least three inches in clear height, to be securely
fastened to the door frame or on the transoms over the door or on
the front of the building in such a manner as to be easily seen.
The houses, stores and other buildings aforesaid
shall be numbered as follows:
A. Numbering shall start at First Street with No. 100,
numbering eastward with even numbers on the south side of the several
streets and odd numbers on the north side of the several streets.
B. Numbering of the cross streets shall start at Avenue
B with No. 400, numbering northward with even numbers on the east
side of the several streets and odd numbers on the west side of the
several streets.
C. The numbering on Hazard Road shall begin with No.
400, numbering toward Bowmanstown with even numbers on the left-hand
side and odd numbers on the right-hand side of said road.
D. The numbering of Park Avenue shall begin at Fourth
Street with No. 400, numbering northeastward with even numbers on
the southerly side and odd numbers on the northerly side of said street.

Any person refusing or neglecting to comply with the provisions of this chapter within 10 days after notice shall be liable to a penalty as provided in Chapter
1, General Provisions, Article
II, §
1-17A, which penalty shall be sued for and recovered as fines and penalties of like amount are by law recoverable, for the use of the Borough Treasury.
