Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 103a of the Connecticut General
Statutes, there is hereby established a Transit District for the Town of Bethel
encompassing the territorial limits of said Town.
The purpose of said district shall be to ensure the continuance of adequate
motor bus service in said Town, and the Transit District shall possess and
may exercise all of the powers granted by the General Statutes for Transit
Districts, including, without limitation, the right to form a district in
cooperation with any other municipality.
The Transit District is authorized to be included in the district now
encompassing the territorial limits of the City of Danbury, Connecticut.
The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Bethel is authorized to appoint
a Director of the Transit District pursuant to Section 7-273c of the Connecticut
General Statutes, which Director shall be an elector of the Town of Bethel
and who shall be the Director from the Town of Bethel in the event that the
Town of Bethel is included in a Transit District encompassing more than one
municipality. Said Director shall serve for a term of four years.
