A. 
Where required, the contractor shall install four-inch 45° Y-branch connections to the main sewer line in accordance with instructions of the pipe manufacturer. Onto the four-inch stub of the Y branch, a 45° sweep bend of four inch pipe will be connected.
B. 
The contractor shall indicate the location of the end of the stub by a mark on the pavement or curb, as well as by leaving a stake or pole marked "sewer connection" in place in the trench opposite the connection until such time as the building sewer is extended beyond the curbline. The connection will be capped off to prevent water from entering the sewer main, and its location shall be tied in by measured distances from three permanent reference points and recorded for use in future location and for the project engineer's preparation of the as-constructed plans.
A. 
Scope.
(1) 
Where required, the contractor shall install eight-by eight-by-four T-branch connections to the main sewer line. Onto the four-inch stub of the T-branch, a four-inch riser, encased in concrete in accordance with the plans, shall be constructed. At the end of the riser and at the elevation established by the project engineer, the contractor shall install a four-inch 90° bend.
(2) 
All applicable provisions of the requirements under Y-branch connections and 45° bends shall also apply to this section.
A. 
Scope. Included under this section shall be the furnishing, excavation, laying, jointing, capping of the end and backfilling for the construction of the four-inch house-connection pipe in accordance with the details shown on the plans and the instructions of the pipe manufacturer. The work shall include all labor, tools, materials and equipment, including couplings and jointing materials.
B. 
Type of pipe.
(1) 
Pipe shall conform to the requirements herein under the section dealing with sewer pipe.[1]

(2) 
With each length of pipe, a complete rubber-ring-type coupling will be furnished and properly installed. The coupling shall be composed of materials which conform to the standards of the manufacturer of the pipe with which the couplings will be used.
C. 
Capping. The ends of all building sewer lines at the street line shall have a machined end. The ends of all the building sewer laterals shall be sealed with a standard cap and be marked with a stake or pole.
D. 
Excavation and backfill. Excavation and backfill shall conform to the requirements of excavation previously covered in these specifications.
