No person shall abandon or store out of doors any refrigerator, icebox
or similar device whose doors automatically latch on the outside when closed
and which is large enough for any child to enter, unless the door or latch
thereon is removed or unless the device is otherwise made safe so that a child
entering it could not lock or be locked in it.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, upon
conviction thereof, be punished, for each violation, by a fine of not more
than five hundred dollars ($500.) or by imprisonment for not more than thirty
(30) days. The continuation of a violation of any provision of this chapter
shall constitute, for each day the violation is continued, a separate and
distinct violation hereunder.
