A.Â
Pursuant to the provisions of New Jersey Statutes Annotated,
N.J.S.A. 40:81-13, there is hereby created in the City of Clifton an Advisory
Committee for Individuals with Disabilities, the members of which shall serve
the Municipal Council without compensation in an advisory capacity in matters
touching on or concerning individuals with disabilities.
B.Â
The name of the Committee shall be: "Advisory Committee
for Individuals with Disabilities."
A.Â
The Committee shall consist of nine members to be appointed
by the Municipal Council. The term of each member shall be four years. In
the event that a vacancy occurs, the same shall be filled by the Municipal
Council for the unexpired balance of the term.
B.Â
The Committee shall be composed of persons with disabilities
and/or persons interested in matters affecting individuals with disabilities.
The Committee shall organize annually by the election of a Chairman
from among its members. The Committee may hold regular and special meetings
and, subject to the provisions of this chapter, may make and amend rules and
regulations concerning the conduct thereof.
The Committee shall:

Obtain and disseminate on a City-wide basis information
pertaining to individuals with disabilities.
B.Â
Recommend to the Municipal Council methods and procedures
to aid and assist individuals with disabilities.
C.Â
Gather and present to the Municipal Council such facts,
information and data as may help and assist the Council in its deliberations
pertaining to matters touching on or concerning individuals with disabilities.
D.Â
Submit annually to the Municipal Council a report on
its activities for the preceding year.
