A.
Vehicles used in the transportation or distribution
of milk or milk products, ice cream or ices shall be maintained in
a clean sanitary condition at all times. Such vehicles shall be well
painted on the inside, and the sides, roof and flooring must be smooth
and unbroken without cloth or upholstery in that part where the milk,
milk products, ice cream or ices are carried. If an open vehicle is
used, a cover of washable material, such as canvas, must be used.
B.
Effective January 1, 1960, no open vehicles shall
be permitted for distribution of milk, cream or milk products in the
City, and the closed parcel-type truck must thereafter be used, Milk
distribution vehicles shall be used only for carrying and distributing
milk, cream and dairy products.
The premises from which milk or milk products
are distributed by a producer-dealer, dealer or subdealer shall be
used exclusively for the storage or sale of milk, cream and milk products.
Producer-dealers, dealers or subdealers shall
use mechanical refrigeration only in the place or location in which
milk or milk products are stored and shall provide a temperature therein
not to exceed 50º F. and shall be responsible for the proper
maintenance and sanitation of said refrigerator. Whenever two or more
producer-dealers, dealers or subdealers shall use the same refrigerator,
each shall be responsible for the proper maintenance, sanitation and
temperature of said refrigerator.
A producer-dealer, dealer or subdealer shall
furnish a complete list of the name and address of his customers and
the quantities of milk, cream and milk products delivered to them
on the written request of the Health Department.
No producer-dealer, dealer or subdealer of milk
or milk products shall change his location from the business address
indicated in his application for a license to sell or distribute milk
or milk products without first submitting written notification thereof
to the Health Department.
No producer-dealer, dealer or subdealer shall
adopt or use a name or trade designation in his business, upon his
milk vehicles, on his bill advertising or stationery, other than the
name or trade designation under which the license to sell or distribute
milk or milk products was issued, without first notifying the Health
Department in writing.
It shall be unlawful for any person to split
cans of milk or cream while on the street, on vehicles, in stores
or in any place other than in licensed milk plant.
No person shall have upon any vehicle used for
the transportation of milk or milk products any dipper or other utensil
which may be used for the purpose of transferring milk or milk products
from one container to another, nor shall the operator of any such
vehicle have in his possession or on such vehicle any unfilled single
service container, or any cap, tag or label for milk or milk products
other than those already attached to the containers at the place of
pasteurization or filling.
No water, preservative or other adulterant shall
be kept in or upon any wagon used for the purpose of transporting
and delivering milk and milk products.
