The Department shall be headed by a Director
who shall be appointed by the Mayor and be qualified by education
and experience.
The Department shall perform or supervise all
appropriate functions associated with:
A.
Enforcement of the laws of the state and the ordinances
of the Township, preservation of public peace and protection of persons
and property.
B.
Traffic enforcement.
C.
Animal control.
D.
Police communication system.
E.
Regulation of school crossings.
F.
Perform liaison with the volunteer fire company and
rescue squad.
