The Chief, Captains, and Lieutenants shall be appointed by the Mayor and Council. Officers may serve without term limits.
When an opening is posted, employees who meet the qualifications for that position may submit their names for consideration. These names shall be presented to an investigation committee established by the Mayor. This committee will review the qualifications of all applicants. The committee shall conduct interviews and the Chief shall make recommendations to the Mayor and Council.
