As used in this chapter, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
To approach, instruct, communicate with, store data in, retrieve
data from, or otherwise use the resources of a computer, computer
system, or computer network.
An electronic device which performs logical, arithmetic,
and memory function by the manipulations of electronic or magnetic
impulses, and includes input, output, processing, storage, software,
or communication facilities which are connected or related to a device
in a system or network.
The interconnection of communication lines with a computer
through remote terminals, or a complex consisting of two or more interconnected
computers.
A series of instructions or statements, in a form acceptable
to a computer, which permits the functioning of a computer system
in a manner designed to provide appropriate products from the computer
system.
A set of computer programs, procedures, and associated documentation
concerned with the operation of a computer system.
A set of related, connected or unconnected, computer equipment,
devices, and software.
The management information system created by interlocal government
agreement entered into by the Township of Grosse Ile on January 25,
1999, pursuant to MCLA § 124.501 to assist participating
communities in the assembly, retention, and retrieval of law enforcement
data.
A.Â
No person other than an authorized law enforcement
officer employed by the Township shall access the Shared Information
Network Consortium Management Information System, unless specifically
authorized in writing by the Chief of Police.
B.Â
No law enforcement officer employed by the Township
shall access that portion of the Shared Information Network Consortium
Management Information System outside his or her clearance level as
established by the access protocols published by SINC.
C.Â
No person shall intentionally and without authorization
gain access to, alter, damage, or destroy, or tamper with for the
purposes of damaging or destroying, a computer, computer system or
computer network, or gain access to, alter, damage, or destroy a computer
software program or data contained in the Shared Information Network
Consortium Management Information System, its computers or computer
network.
