[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town of Boothbay Harbor 3-7-1960 by ATM Art. 37 (part of Art. 10 of the 1958 Ordinances). Amendments noted where applicable.]
No child under sixteen (16) years of age shall be on or remain upon any street, way, park, alley or lane or in any public place, restaurant, saloon or bowling alley in the town in the nighttime after nine o'clock in the afternoon (9:00 p.m.) of any day unless accompanied by a parent, guardian or other adult person having the legal custody of such child or unless the duty, business or employment of such child makes it necessary for it to be upon such street, way, park, alley or lane or in such public place, restaurant, saloon or bowling alley after said hours, with the knowledge and consent of parent, guardian or other adult persons having the legal custody of such child. To aid in the practical enforcement of this chapter, it is hereby made the duty of the Chief of the Fire Department to cause one (1) stroke or whistle to be sounded each night at eight o'clock and forty-five minutes (8:45 p.m.) upon the fire alarm system of the town.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a penalty as set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article II, General Penalty.
