A.Â
In the area between the Middle Road and east to Route
27, the Boothbay Harbor northern town line and south to the waters of Mill
Cove, no person may discharge or cause to be discharged any firearm other
than a shotgun. Excepted is the use of a small handgun for coon hunting required
by law.
B.Â
Lobster Cove Road and south: The open (out of doors)
discharge of any firearm south of a line represented by the center line of
Lobster Cove Road is prohibited. The line drawn or represented by the center
line of Lobster Cove Road will be so taken and accepted as beginning at the
water's edge west of the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Lobster
Cove Road. From said beginning the line is drawn in an easterly direction
following the center line of Lobster Cove Road, including the center line
of Wall Point Road and Harris Point Road, ending at the waters of Linekin
Bay. It is not the intent of this section to or in any way restrict or prohibit
the use of a firearm by a law enforcement officer or an agent thereof in the
performance of normal duties, or by a citizen in the legitimate exercise of
self-defense.

As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
A weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade to use the energy
of the explosive in a fixed shotgun shell to fire through a smooth bore either
a number of ball shot or a single projectile for each single pull of the trigger.
