A. 
For the purpose of this chapter, the following terms, phrases, words and their derivatives shall have the meanings herein given unless the context shall deem otherwise. Undefined terms shall have the same meanings defined in M.R.S.A. Title 29, as amended.
BUSINESS DISTRICT
All ways in the business districts of the Boothbay Harbor Zoning Ordinance, as amended.[1]
CURB
The outer edge of a defined sidewalk or either edge of a way.
HIGHWAY or STREET
The entire width between the boundary lines of every way publicly maintained, when any part thereof is open to the use of the public for purposes of vehicular travel.
HOLIDAYS
Thanksgiving Day; New Year's Day, January 1; Memorial Day; the 4th of July; Labor Day, the first Monday of September; Veterans Day, November 11; and Christmas Day.
INDIVIDUAL PARKING SPACE
A portion of the paved surface of the street of sufficient length and depth from the sidewalk curb to accommodate a vehicle to be parked as shall be specified and marked off by the Selectmen of the Town of Boothbay Harbor.
LOADING ZONE
The part of any way reserved for the exclusive purpose of loading or unloading cargo or passengers.
PARKING METERS
A device or devices which shall indicate thereon the length of time which a vehicle may be parked in a particular place.
OPERATOR
Any person who exerts control of a vehicle while being driven or towed upon a highway, street, or way, whether public or private.
PEDESTRIAN
Any person afoot.
PERSON
Any individual, firm, partnership, association or corporation, joint venture, fiduciary, trust, estate or any other legal or commercial entity.
SAFETY ZONE
That part of any way reserved for the exclusive use of pedestrians by marks on the surface of the roadway or by such other markings or contrivances as the Chief of Police may deem suitable.
VEHICLE
Any device in which any person or property is or may be transported upon a highway, street, or way. “Vehicle” does not include conveyances propelled or drawn by human power or used exclusively on trucks, or snowmobiles as defined in 12 M.R.S.A. § 13001, or electric personal assistance mobility devices as defined in 20-A M.R.S.A. § 101.
WAY
The entire width between boundary lines of a road, highway, street, bridge, or sidewalk used for public or private vehicular or pedestrian travel.

B. 
Interpretation of words according to Main Motor Vehicle Laws. Unless the context otherwise indicates, all other words and terms shall be construed in accordance with the provisions of the motor vehicle laws of Maine.[2]

Any person, firm or corporation who or which shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof and in addition to any other remedies provided herein, be subject to a fine of not less than $3 and not more than $100. Every day that a violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense.
