Every driver of a vehicle in starting, slowing
up, stopping, turning while in motion or backing shall indicate his
or her intention by a timely and appropriate signal.
Every driver of a vehicle, excepting when passing
a vehicle ahead, shall keep to the right and as near the right curb
as possible and shall always proceed in the general direction of traffic.
Every driver of a vehicle meeting another vehicle
shall pass on the right.
Every driver approaching an intersection, crosswalk,
corner or curve not protected by a signal system or police officer
shall proceed in a cautious manner and in such a way as not to cause
damage or injury to other vehicles and pedestrians.
A. Entering marked crosswalks. No vehicle shall enter
a marked crosswalk not protected by a signal system or police officer
while a pedestrian is passing until such pedestrian has passed beyond
the path of the vehicle.
B. Entering unmarked crosswalks. No vehicle shall enter
a unmarked crosswalk not protected by a signal system or police officer
when a pedestrian passing through indicates his or her intention to
cross until such pedestrian has passed beyond the path of the vehicle.
C. Vehicle distance requirements in approaching crosswalks.
No vehicle shall be within five feet of any other vehicle in front
of it when approaching and passing over a crosswalk.
D. Entering crosswalk obstructed by other vehicles. No
vehicle shall enter any crosswalk not protected by a signal system
or police officer when any other vehicle headed in the same direction
is stopped at such crosswalk.
E. Vehicles required to stop at intersection. The driver
of a vehicle shall come to a full stop before entering a throughway
or any other intersection deemed necessary by the Board of Selectmen.
Suitable stop signs shall be erected at such intersection.
No vehicle shall enter any portion of a safety
zone.
No vehicle shall enter any sidewalk or footbridge
except for the purpose of passing through driveways.
No vehicle shall be driven over any fire hose
except by consent of the Fire Chief or his or her assistants on duty.
No vehicle shall pass through a funeral procession
when the procession vehicles display their mission.
All vehicles emerging from an alley, driveway,
garage or building shall come to a complete stop before entering a
sidewalk area.
No vehicle shall stop with its left side to
the curb. This section shall not apply to those streets used as one-way
streets.
Upon those streets and portions of streets described and specified in Schedule II (§
160-39), when designated by the Town Manager and approved by order of the Selectmen, vehicular traffic shall move only in the indicated direction when signs indicating the direction of traffic are erected and maintained at every intersection where movement in the opposite direction is prohibited. Said schedule shall be maintained by the Town Clerk and be available for public inspection at any reasonable hour. Said schedule has been described in Schedule II which is attached to and incorporated as a part of this chapter.

No person shall ride on any coaster, skates,
skateboard, skis, roller blades or roller skates upon any street,
sidewalk, park or Town-controlled parking lot.
All public areas must maintain a fifteen-foot
clearance for emergency vehicle access.

Any person(s), firm or corporation or otherwise
who shall violate any provision of this article shall be subject to
a fine of not less than $100, or a maximum fine of $2,500 per violation.
Each day a violation is allowed to exist or continue shall be a separate
offense or violation.
