This chapter is applied to the administration and enforcement of the following portions of the New York State Building Construction Code: one- and two-family dwellings, multiple dwellings, general building construction, plumbing code, energy code and fire prevention code; and the National Electrical Code promulgated by the National Fire Protection Association.
No provision of this chapter shall be construed to require any change in, alteration of or addition to a legally existing building or structure or the premises connected therewith, unless especially stated to so apply.
