The Seal of the City shall be as follows: a circular disc, upon the outer edge of which shall be inserted the words "TOWNSHIP OF DUNSTABLE, 1673," and upon the lower edge or bottom of the disc the words "CITY OF NASHUA, 1853." In the foreground shall be represented an anvil and hammers, a plough, a bale of goods, a regulator, and a horn of plenty; across the center of the disc shall be represented a bridge and a train of railroad cars; in the background shall be represented a cotton mill, iron foundries, etc.; and upon the top of the disc shall be represented two clasped hands; the whole being according to the design below.
The City Clerk shall have custody of the City Seal.

A. 
The City Seal shall be the property of the City of Nashua. The City Seal shall be used only by the City, its officials and employees in an official capacity on City stationery, printed materials, vehicles, clothing and other articles or for official City functions or events sponsored or co-sponsored by the City.
B. 
No person or group shall place any imitation of the City Seal, nor any derivation, rendering, version, expression, logo, stamp or reproduction thereof, on any written, printed or electronic material that is designed, intended or likely to confuse, deceive or mislead the public or cause the reader of such material to believe it to be an official City publication.
C. 
No person or group shall place any imitation of the City Seal, nor any derivation, rendering, version, expression, logo, stamp or reproduction thereof, on any written, printed or electronic material in favor of or against any ballot measure or in favor or against any candidate for public office.
D. 
No person shall manufacture, sell, expose for sale, or have in possession for sale any article or substance, being an article of merchandise or receptacle of merchandise or article or thing for carrying or transporting merchandise, or sell, expose for sale, give away, or have in possession for sale or to give away or for any purpose any article or thing to advertise or promote services, upon which shall have been printed, painted, attached, or otherwise placed a representation or likeness of the City Seal, without first obtaining the express written permission of the City Clerk.
E. 
The violation of any provision of this article shall be punishable by a fine of not less than $100 for a first offense and not less than $500 for each subsequent offense. Each act of violation and every day upon which any such violation shall occur shall constitute a separate offense.

All City-owned and -leased vehicles will have a facsimile of the City Seal affixed to such vehicle, except for vehicles used by the Nashua Police Department and those vehicles deemed appropriate by the Nashua Fire Rescue Chief.
The City Seal shall be permanently affixed to the front driver- and passenger-side doors and shall be centered in the panel. Vehicles of dark color will have a white facsimile of the City Seal, and vehicles of light color will have a dark facsimile of the City Seal. The facsimile of the City Seal shall be no less than nine inches in diameter, so that it may be clearly and proudly displayed. The City shall add/identify each department by adding the name below each Seal.
