The following words shall have the following definitions when used in this chapter:
FIREARM
Any gun, shotgun, rifle, pistol, revolver, bow and arrow, air gun or other device from which a bullet, shot, ball, slug, pellet, solid projectile or other missile or any gas, vapor or other noxious thing is propelled, including but not limited to BB guns or slingshots.
A. 
No person shall fire or discharge any firearm or carry, transport or possess a loaded firearm within 450 feet of any dwelling, store, garage, filling station, airport, industrial or commercial establishment or within 1,000 feet of any public or school playground, house or grounds, any athletic field or church or similar institution or public park.
B. 
An owner, or any person with his permission, or lessee of property may fire or discharge any firearm and may transport a loaded firearm or possess same within 450 feet of his own dwelling or garage and anywhere else on his property, but not within 450 feet of another dwelling, store, garage, filling station, airport, industrial or commercial establishment or within 1,000 feet of any public or school playground or park, any athletic field during school hours, school grounds, church or similar institution.
C. 
No person shall fire or discharge any firearm upon or across any state, county or municipal road or highway.
The prohibitions set forth in § 124-2 shall not apply to the following:
A. 
Members of the Township Police Department and any law enforcement officer of any municipal, county, state or federal government while in the performance of their official duties.
B. 
Hunters complying with the fish and game laws.
The township shall provide for the posting of appropriate signs on all major roads which provide access to the township advising the general public that there are areas within the township where firearms shall not be discharged.
Each and every person violating any provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not more than $1,000 or imprisonment in a county jail for a period of not more six months, or both, in the discretion of the Judge. Each day that the offense occurs shall be deemed to be a separate offense.
