Zoning — See Ch. 121.
The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees may appoint up to two alternate members each to the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals.
A.
Such alternate members shall be appointed at the annual meeting of the Village Board of Trustees and shall serve for a term of two years. If more than one alternate is appointed at the same time, the Board shall also designate the order of priority.
B.
Such alternate members shall meet all the requirements for eligibility as established for the regular members of the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.
C.
The respective terms of office may be staggered so that there is always an experienced alternate along with a new appointee.
D.
The Board will fill any vacancy resulting from resignation or death and the newly appointed alternate will serve for the balance of the term.
E.
The alternates shall enjoy the same rights and privileges as regular members, including the right to participate in all discussions; provided, however, that an alternate shall be entitled to vote only where a regular Board member is not present or disqualified from voting.
