Pursuant to § 53.1-120 of the Code
of Virginia, there is hereby assessed against the defendant a fee
of $20 in each criminal or traffic case heard in any District or Circuit
Court in Rappahannock County in which the defendant is convicted of
a violation of any state statute or local ordinance.

The assessment shall be collected by the Clerk
of the Court in which the case is heard, remitted to the County Treasurer
and held by such Treasurer to be appropriated by the Board of Supervisors
to the Sheriffs office. The assessment shall be used solely for the
funding of courthouse security personnel and, if requested by the
Sheriff, equipment and other personal property used in connection
with courthouse security.
This article shall continue in effect for so
long as the state enabling legislation so provides, or until revoked
by the Board of Supervisors.
