There shall be three alternate members of the Board of Finance, who shall be electors and taxpayers of the Town appointed by the Board of Selectmen to serve a term expiring on the second Tuesday following the biennial municipal election to be held in 1977.

At the biennial municipal election to be held in the Town in 1977, one alternate member of the Board of Finance shall be elected to serve until the second Tuesday following the next biennial election, one alternate member shall be elected to serve until the second Tuesday following the second biennial election from such date and one alternate member shall be elected to serve until the second Tuesday following the third biennial election from such date. At each biennial election thereafter, the Town shall elect one elector who is a taxpayer of the Town as an alternate member of the Board of Finance to serve for six years.
