The Committee shall determine the credited service of each member from employment records, giving credit for service for each full year and a fraction thereof for each full month.
Past service shall be continuous service prior to July 1, 1977, or entry in the plan if an employee enters the plan after July 1, 1977.
Future service shall be continuous service with the Town while a member of the plan. A member shall continue to earn future service until his retirement, the termination of his employment or his death, whichever occurs first.
Any member whose employment terminates or is terminated shall lose all right to credited service and to benefits under this plan, unless specifically entitled to benefits under Article V. If a former member is subsequently reemployed, he shall be considered a new employee for the purposes of this plan.
