The Town of North Branford hereby adopts the provisions of Chapter 50,
Sections 4-124i to 4-124p, inclusive, of the General Statutes of Connecticut
concerning Regional Councils of Governments.
A.Â
The Regional Council of Governments shall be entitled
to exercise all of the rights and authority and shall be subject to all of
the responsibilities and duties provided for in the General Statutes of Connecticut.
Said powers and duties shall consist of consideration of such matters of a
public nature common to two (2) or more members of the Council as it deems
appropriate, including matters affecting the health, safety, welfare, education
and economic conditions of the area comprised by its members.
B.Â
The Council shall promote cooperative arrangements and
coordinate action among its members and make recommendations therefor to the
members and such other public and private agencies as exist or perform functions
within the region.
A.Â
The planning duties and responsibilities of the Regional
Council of Governments shall be carried out exclusively by a Regional Planning
Commission in accordance with Section 4-124o of the General Statutes of Connecticut.
B.Â
The Planning Commission shall appoint one (1) of its
members to be its representative to the Regional Planning Commission, said
appointment being subject to the concurrence of the Town Council.
The Mayor, or Deputy Mayor in the absence of the Mayor, is hereby authorized
to represent the town in the deliberations of the Council.
