The Police Department of the Town of Wallingford
shall issue licenses and permits required by this chapter. It shall
provide the necessary forms and keep the required records for the
administration of this chapter.
Every license or permit shall be signed by the
Chief of Police or the Deputy Chief. The fee shall be paid to the
Police Department for the use of the general fund of the town before
such license or permit shall be issued. Licenses and permits shall
be numbered and a catalog kept in the Police Department of the same.
Each license and permit shall contain a provision that the person,
firm or corporation acting under the same shall conform to the representations
of the application, to the ordinances of the Town of Wallingford,
including this chapter, and such other terms and conditions as the
particular circumstances shall require as determined by the Chief
of Police.
The Police Department shall keep a record book
and enter a memoranda of every license or permit issued, with the
number, date, name of person, firm or corporation to whom issued,
expiration date and any special condition attached to the license
or permit, the amount of the fee and acknowledgment of payment of
the fee.
The Town of Wallingford shall not be liable
for any trespass or breach of law or for any damage relative to said
permit or license.
All licenses and permits issued under this chapter
shall be for a term of one year from the first of January and shall
not be transferable to a different person, firm or corporation.
The Chief of Police may revoke a license or
permit for breach of its terms and conditions upon notice, in writing,
to the holder before the date or revocation will become effective.
Any person, firm or corporation aggrieved by
the refusal of the Police Department to issue a permit or by the terms
and conditions contained in the permit or license issued or by the
revocation of a permit or license may appeal to the Town Council,
upon giving notice to the Chief of Police and Town Council within
10 days of the act complained of. The decision of the Police Department
shall be effective during the time of said appeal and until modified
by the Town Council.

The Chief of Police shall grant a license or
permit free of charge for any exhibition or entertainment when the
proceeds of such performance are devoted exclusively to charitable,
educational or religious purposes.
No license shall be granted by the Chief of
Police to any applicant for a permit until a certificate of adequate
liability insurance is filed with the Chief of Police.
Any person, firm or corporation violating this
chapter shall be fined not more than $100 for each separate violation.
