The provisions of Sections 2383-d to 2398-d, inclusive, of the Connecticut General Statutes, Revision of 1949, as amended,[1] are hereby adopted.

The Flood and Erosion Control Board hereby established pursuant to the provision of Section 2383-d of the Connecticut General Statutes, Revision of 1949, as amended, is designated as the Flood and Erosion Control Board for the Town of Branford.
Members of the Flood and Erosion Control Board shall be electors of the Town of Branford holding no salaried municipal office and shall be appointed by the Board of Selectmen as follows:
A. 
The five original members of said Board shall be appointed, one member for a term expiring on the 30th day of April 1958, and one member for a term expiring on the 30th day of April of each year thereafter until April 30, 1962.
B. 
In the month of April in each year, one member of the Flood and Erosion Control Board shall be appointed for a term of five years beginning on the first day of May next thereafter.
C. 
Vacancies in the Flood and Erosion Control Board shall be filled by the Board of Selectmen for the unexpired portion of the term.
The Flood and Erosion Control Board shall elect a Chairman and a Secretary from among its members and shall meet at the call of the Chairman and at such other times as said Board may determine.
