A Board of Appeal is hereby established to consist
of three members to be appointed by the Board of Selectmen. All members
of the Board of Appeal shall be residents of the Town. The appointments
first made shall be for one, two and three years, respectively, so
that the term of one member shall expire each year. All subsequent
appointments shall be made for a term of three years to begin on the
first day of April.
Vacancies shall be filled by appointment by
the Board of Selectmen for any unexpired term. No member of the Board
of Appeal shall sit on a case in which he is interested. If any member
is so disqualified or absent, the other two members may appoint a
substitute. The members shall serve without pay, but the reasonable
expenses of the Board of Appeal, when approved by the Board of Selectmen,
shall be paid.
