Editor's Note: Ordinance No. 9-2011, adopted 5-17-2011, consolidated the Atlantic County Special Services School District and the Atlantic County Vocational Technical School District into a single board: the Board of Education of the Special Services School District and the Vocational School District of the County of Atlantic.

The following agencies are not allocated among or within departments:
A. 
Atlantic Community College.
B. 
Atlantic County Vocational Technical School.
C. 
County Extension Service.
D. 
Atlantic County Special Services School District.

The County College Board of Trustees, the Vocational Technical School Board and the Special Services School Board shall continue to function according to law. The educational agencies shall be subject to the requirements of the Charter and this chapter as to budgetary matters and financial controls, to the extent that they are supported by County appropriations. All members of the County College Board of Trustees, the Vocational Technical School Board and the Special Services School Board shall be residents of Atlantic County.

There shall be a County Extension Service. The Director of the County Extension Service shall be designated pursuant to law. The County Extension Service shall provide programs to help Atlantic County citizens to become more proficient in agriculture and family living. The County Extension Service shall also provide programs for youth development. The Extension Service, being a part of Rutgers University and required as such to fulfill obligations mandated by that institution, shall prepare a yearly budget in accordance with the university guidelines, as well as established County procedures.
