The Office of Chief Financial Officer of the Borough of Bergenfield is hereby created in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq.
A. 
Any person holding the office of Chief Financial Officer must be a Certified Municipal Finance Officer in accordance with Section 5 of P.L. 1988, c. 151.
B. 
No person shall serve as a Municipal Finance Officer who is a member of the governing body of a municipality.
A. 
The Chief Financial Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor with advice and consent of the Council.
B. 
The term of office for the Chief Financial Officer shall be for one year.
