As used in this chapter, unless the context or subject matter otherwise
requires, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
A launderette or laundromat.
Any building, room, place or space in the City in which self-service
automatic or coin-operated individual units, washing machines or other apparatus
for the washing, cleaning and drying of clothes are installed and rented out
to the public on the payment of certain rentals.
A.Â
Operation without attendant. Self-service laundries may
be opened on any day, including Sundays, without a supervising attendant or
attendants between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
B.Â
Operation with attendant. Self-service laundries shall
not be opened on any day between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. unless
there shall be a supervising attendant or attendants present at all times.
