The Town Board is interested in promoting the health, safety and general
welfare of the Town, including the protection and preservation of the property
of the Town and of its inhabitants and of peace and good order.
No person shall carry or discharge a firearm in Town parks, Town playgrounds
or other Town-owned property.
The prohibition contained in § 66-2 shall not apply to a law enforcement officer in the performance of his official duties, nor to a person carrying an unloaded firearm fully encased or an unloaded firearm contained in the luggage compartment of a motor vehicle.

Any person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty
of a violation under the Penal Law and, upon conviction thereof, shall be
punishable by a fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment for a term not
to exceed 15 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
