Where a public sanitary sewer is not available under the provisions of this Part 1 the building sanitary drain shall be connected to an individual sanitary disposal system complying with all recommendations of the local Department of Health.
At such time as a public sewer becomes available to a property served by a private sewage treatment system, as provided in § 92-7, a direct connection shall be made to the public sewer in compliance with this Part 1, and any private sewage treatment facility shall be abandoned or removed or emptied and backfilled with earth or bankrun gravel, with the exception of sealed concrete tanks.
The owner shall operate and maintain the individual sanitary disposal facilities as provided for above in a sanitary manner at all times, at no expense to the Town.
No statement contained in this Article shall be construed to interfere with any additional requirements that may be imposed by the Department of Health having jurisdiction.
