It shall be unlawful for any person to use, ride, propel or otherwise operate or engage in skateboarding or rollerblading at any time on any property owned by the Borough of New Salem or on any public street, alley or sidewalk in the Borough of New Salem.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
ROLLERBLADE
A device which is attached to an individual's feet which has wheels attached in a column along the underside which are propelled by the individual and which are intended primarily for skating on concrete, macadam or hard floors.
SKATEBOARD
A device propelled by the rider consisting of material or a portion of material approximately two to four feet long with wheels attached to the underside which is commonly ridden on and propelled by an individual in a standing or crouching position.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $600, plus costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment thereof, to undergo imprisonment for a period of not more than 30 days.
