[HISTORY: Adopted by the Annual Town Meeting of the Town of Belchertown 5-13-1985 by Art. 17 as Ch. III, Art. 8 of the 1985 Compendium of Bylaws. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The keeping of more than one unregistered automobile or truck, assembled or disassembled, except by a person licensed under MGL c. 140, § 59, on any premises shall not be permitted, unless the said automobiles or trucks are stored within an enclosed building.
A. 
A special permit to keep more than one unregistered automobile or truck on any premises not within an enclosed building may be granted by the Select Board, if it finds that such keeping:
(1) 
Is in harmony with the general purposes and intent of this chapter;
(2) 
Will not adversely affect the neighborhood; and
(3) 
Will not be a nuisance.
B. 
All such permits granted shall limit the number of unregistered automobiles and trucks to be kept on the premises by the permit holder, shall not run with the land and shall be limited to a reasonable length of time.
This chapter shall not apply to motor vehicles which are designed and used for farming.
Whoever violates any provisions of this chapter shall be liable to a penalty of $5 per day for each day of violation, commencing 10 days following receipt of written notice from the Select Board.[1]
